It's funny how i've become a pro 'easterner' these days...

I know how to get to Bedok 85 on my own.

I know how bedok interchange looks like.

I know where bus 14 from Katong leads me to :)

I know where i must alight if i want to go Katong for yummylicious food.

'nuff said.

Here's the Katong 'shi zi lu kou' pictures!
*after inspired by ieatishootipost*

Went to this Hong Kong Tea House at Katong Village.
It's such a BIG building along the road, it's impossible to miss it.

Tried the red bean drink with icecream...
Was introduced as the house speciality drink, but turned out to be quite a disappointment... I went HK and tried the same drink before in 男人街. Got to admit the original taste was SO much better...

The Po Lo Bun is quite nice~Crispy on the outer layer and soft inside. Fren ate almost 3/4 of it~ It's gd to have someone to share my carbo with...esp. someone who DOESN'T get fat.... *hmph* hahaa

The toast with Peanut Butter IS DAMN GOOD! It's SOOO nice dat i ate alot. *sinful mode* Heh good choice for those who loves peanut butter. Like me! :)

The french toast is abit small and got abit of chao tar taste.
But tastes nice with maple syrup dat's not too sweet.

The HK cafe is opened 24hours daily and if you like the OLD HONGKONG feel coupled with early 90s CantoPOP songs...

THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO...

OH!

Forgot to say... Before the HK Cafe, we actually went to eat Yong Huat's Hokkien Mee and Char Kway Teow opp. the HK Cafe...

This place is said to be famous for its Hokkien Mee... But after trying both, we love the Char Kway Teow to bits!!!

So much so that i forgot to take photos of the Char Kway Teow :(

It's FANTASTIC, if you can stand the oh-so-GENEROUS amount of Pork Lard on your plate...... No kidding! The big chunks of pork lard just flood your plate like nothing...

And 2 weeks later, we went back to Katong for Astons grilled steak.....

My Prime Ribeye well-done & choice of two side dishes: Super skinny fries and coleslaw.

The little bowl you see in the pic contains the mushroom sauce for the steak... Very nice too, except that it's not sizzling hot enuff.

It's a small shop with quite a cosy ambience *cos i love orangey lights!*

BUT

No reservations can be made and you better be there before 5.30pm..... Cos after 5.30pm the queue gets suppppppppppppppppppper long. No kidding!

Good food and relatively cheap as compared to restaurants.
Bill comes up to $42+ for two.

I'd grade the steak 8.5/10 for it's tenderness & grilled to perfection!
*2 Thumbs Up*

A very supremely contented us!!! :):) *burps*
