We all have baggages; something left behind from past memories, no matter good or bad, something that is kept at the back of our heads and that we recall when someone triggers that piece of field in your brain.
For some, the baggage will always be there.
You'll always remember the cruelty he/she said before the phone was hung up.
You'll always remember the look on his/her face when he/she turned to leave.
You'll always remember the apologies that sounded ironic.
We all have baggage carried forward from the past.
Some linger for a long long time, some never fade. It depends largely on how you handle those baggages in life.
Are you going to let them hinder your current situation? Or are you going to learn from past experiences knowing you won't go back to the same shit again?
Unless you really love recycling. I'd advise some old things better be left behind.
By leaving behind, it doesn't mean you have to forget. Nobody forgets. If you can't forgive either, that's fine.
But be fair to yourself. Be fair to the one who loves you. It's always better if you know you are ready. To tread on new paths while understanding clearly that those baggages are not going to weigh you down halfway.
Like the song "Tattoo", some memories will always be there.
You're still a part of everything I do
You're on my heart just like a tattoo
You will never forget a person, even if you're no longer emotionally attached to him/her.
Baggages can be fatal.
But when put into good use, they remind you how you'll never want to go back to the past again.
While pain is part of growing up,
history should never be repeated.
