- Happiology -

Chanced upon this word, 'Happiology', while flipping thru an older edition of Cleo today.

It was when i learnt that 11yr old British kids are taught How To Be Happy in school. They were taught to think positive, express their thoughts and do breathing techniques, to spin their thoughts away from the negative ones and learning how to LAUGH THE CORRECT WAY.

WOW.

Happiness....... CAN BE taught?

Perhaps the right attitude in life. But not feelings.

Feelings can't be taught, cos it's something very individual.

Even the word 'Happiness' and its definition is very subjective to individuals with different experiences, different upbringing and different family backgrounds etc.

Joy is not a constant. It's not something that's always there.

Or perhaps it IS there. Very simple & direct. But too often, we got caught up by too much workload, too many little grumbles, traffic jams, quarells etc..... that we forgot to think happy.

Find out what it is that TRIGGERS ur happiness.

What is it that causes you to lose track of time, that brings you bliss.

Find it, get involved, enjoy it and lastly, REMEMBER it.

Remembering the things that make you happy. It can be very insignificant. It can be someone you never really take a 2nd look at. It can be a song. It can be your favourite activity. It can be memories -- a moment in the past that makes you feel high and hilariously happy.

Be it a person, people, incidents, moments, memories, trips.... Anything.

So the next time when u are unhappy, you got these stuffs to spin your thoughts around and make you feel a whole lot better.

Start your happiness journal today. Take one step at a time towards thinking positive.

Smile at someone looking forlon. Smile at everyone.

Look after your body.

A healthy man is a happy man.

Dont go hungry.

Everyday, no matter how busy, find ONE thing to bring you back to happiness.

Live in the moment.

Don't compare yourself with others. Be confident.

Count your blessings.

Treat yourself to chocolates. Chocs are said to relax the mind :)

What are the things that makes me happy?

1) Going on trips
2) Blogging
3) Having a delicious meal coupled with gd company
4) Watching GOOD tv shows
5) Going to the beach and watching time passes by
6) Playing games. Play MJ!
7) Catching up with old friends,knowing how they are.
8) Playing with my jack russell. Running with him :)
9) Going market for breakfast with mamee every weekend mornings
10) Nightcycling.
11) Go arcade play basketball.
12) Eating Popcorn!
13) Enough sleep. As in more than 7hrs of sleep.
14) Listening to a good liveband
15) Mac 50cents vanilla cone
16) Swimming
17) Reading a good book.
18) Taking neoprints!
19) Singing a silly song together with a bunch of pple.
20) Just by seeing those whom i love are healthy and happy.

Take some time to do a happiness chart of your own. It can amount up to 100 things in life that makes you happy. Or even 1000.

And remember these are the things that you can fell back on if someday you swing back to negative thinking again.

Don't let happiness slip through your fingers like the sand.

Find that MAGIC TRIGGER.

You are lucky to decide your mood today. Some people don't have this priviledge.
