Back frm the trip.

Once...

I was standing along the sea watching the kids playing with water...

I enjoyed looking at their expressions...

them throwing sand bombs at one another... building 'sand castles' and watching the 'castles' washed away by the huge waves... laughing... running... chasing... getting soaked... lying on the sand... getting dirty... still laughing... still running... still laughing.....

When was the last time i've seen & heard so much laughter?

When was the last and the very first time that i've been in the water...

Playing like this?

Simple things like playing in the sea can make children happy.

Why can't we?

On the trip home... i was having a heart-to-heart tok with someone.

I know she has been troubled by the affairs of the heart... and needs a listening ear.

And so i told her:

Do you know when we lose our happiness?

It's when we try to make things look complicated.

Happiness can be very simple...

Just like the kids playing in the water.

Just like the moment where we waited for the crabs and chased after it when we saw one...

Just like when we held hands and waited for the big wave to come...

Just like when i fed egg yolks to the fishes & saw them crowding ard excitedly....
Just like when we crowded around to play the maomao game tho everyone is feeling tired...

Just like when wl mae and i sat by the sea, fishing in the night and listening to music... talking about nothing...

Just like when i walked out from my bed and Yexuan came to hold my hands...

Just like when i saw the sunrise and felt touched that i am still alive to see this beautiful sight laid before my eyes....

Happiness is not complicated. It's always there. It can be shared. It can never go away unless u choose to leave it behind, forget abt its presence and try to make things go the more pessimistic & complicated way.

But you'll never learn how important happiness is if you never had a huge fall.

Let's be thankful that happiness came and stayed in our hearts at least for awhile. It might be gone soon, cos of humans' complicated thoughts and guesses. Cos of time. Cos of life's ever-changing circumstances. Cos of the people who influenced our minds.




But when it's here, embrace it, remember how it feels, and be glad that you can still feel happy about something. Though it might be short-lived. Though you might have nobody around to share with.

And girl... I wish you happiness in your pursuit for the guy you like.
